After sharing my Cranberry 101, I wanted to be sure that you had plenty of ideas for using your fresh cranberries!
Cranberry relish is a bright, clean, alternative to cranberry sauce. It’s 100% raw, so it super quick and easy to make. Simply chop some cranberries, apples, oranges and ginger in your food processor and finish with some honey to sweeten it up and it’s ready to go.
This recipe is free of any refined sugars and tends to be more tart than sweet. If you like a sweeter relish, simply add in some extra honey until you have it exactly how you love it.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cranberries
- 1 navel orange preferably organic
- 1 green apple
- 1 tbsp. fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until chopped and well incorporated.
- Note: If you have small processor, you can chop up each ingredient separately, add to a large bowl and then add in the honey and ginger and stir until well combined.

Cranberries don’t grow here.Could I substitute with strawberries and change the orange to a lemon ?

I’d be curious to hear if this works for you…. my only concern is that strawberries are a lot juicer then cranberries so it may be very wet.

I thought I lost this recipe! It is one of my favorites this time of year. It is so refreshing I make a ton of it to eat with everything. I also add walnuts for more of a crunch.

Hi Liz! I’m so glad you like this recipe. The addition of walnuts is a great idea – I can see how that would add a delicious crunchy texture.

Do you peel the orange? And the apple, do I core it? I can’t remember. Arrrg!
