Once Katie hit six months old, I had nearly HAD IT with our “Exclusively Pumping” arrangement. As I began to give Katie some “real food,” I gave myself permission to back off my “pumping schedule” and decided that if and when my supplied dropped, I would supplement with formula when needed.
Needless to say, my supply eventually dipped and Katie has been getting however much formula is needed to make up for the difference in my milk supply.
And in order not to turn into the Mom that complains every time she makes a puree or mash for her child, I have committed myself to finding ways of incorporating “Katie’s foods” into my meals (or snacks) as well.
ENTER Peanut Butter, Banana, & Prune Puree Goodness:
Basically a peanut butter and jelly topped banana. I simply top some fat banana slices with a plop of peanut butter and a dollop of prune puree.
Insanely simple. Even more insanely deeelicous!
Just join me for a minute… a fat creamy slice of banana, topped with some crunchy, salted peanut butter, all balanced out with a just a kiss of sweet prune drizzle… sometimes, it’s the little things in life…
Wouldn’t you agree?
Oh and by the way… this little one is just a brain synapse away from figuring out how to crawl:
I’m SO screwed.
- A big handful of prunes
- Place prunes in a small saucepan and add just enough water to cover the prunes by an inch or so.
