I have a little secret to share.
I can’t believe it myself, but the truth is…
I’m already bored to death of making “baby” food!
What can I say, steaming and mashing food doesn’t do it for me – which is exactly why the Banana Avocado Mash has become a favorite around here – there is NO steaming involved – you just peel and mash! Easy enough, right?
Bananas are packed with potassium and avocados are chock full of healthy fats making this parent-friendly mash beneficial for both child and “masher.”
This batch was a bit on the chunkier side, but Katie made it perfectly clear that she prefers it “creamier” by sorting out the smooth pieces from the chunky pieces with her tongue before spitting out the “too-chunky-chunks.” I know it’s wrong of me, but it’s so fun to watch her go through this process that I’m often tempted to leave this mash a bit chunkier for pure entertainment!
If Katie could use words, my guess is that she would be saying, “Really, Mom?…Really?… this is funny to you?… sick.”
SO for those of you who are NOT evil and want to make your babies lives a little easier, simply add in some water, breast milk, or formula to smooth it out.
Honestly, I look forward the days when Katie is ready for some “real” food, but until then – I mash on!
