Video: Baked Buffalo Wings

Baked Buffalo Wings 2

With Super Bowl Sunday quickly approaching I knew it was due time for a video featuring my Spicy Baked Buffalo Wings!

Not only are these wings baked and not fried, but they just so happen to be a very simple recipe to whip up.  As a matter of fact…

Clean Eating Roasted Shrimp and Green Beans

Shrimp and Beans

In case it’s not obvious, the two key factors that weigh the heaviest when it comes to cooking (for me) are; simplicity and nutritional density.

Notice how I put simplicity first?

Truth be told, that even for me (a self-proclaimed, ‘health conscious foodie’) more times than not ‘time and ease’ tend to outweigh health and nutrition once the clock starts ticking…

Clean Eating Turkey Chili

Turkey Chili

This one is simple.

I haven’t thrown in any extra veggies or magical ‘super-foods’.

This is a straight-forward, no-frills, chili recipe that reminded me that sometimes you’ve just gotta let a classic be a classic.

It’s warm, cozy, comfort food at it’s delicious best (and it just so happens to be packed with protein and fiber to boot;)).

Warm Lentil Salad Speckled W/ Kale and Pomegranate Seeds

Warm Lentil Salad

I believe that everything in life happens for a reason.

I have been wanting to share this Warm Lentil Salad with you guys for years (no exaggeration).  It’s a recipe that I learned when I attended The New School of Cooking over 5 years ago it’s been one of my ‘no-fail-go-to-salads’ ever since.

But for whatever reason, it just never made it to the blog, and now I know why…

Persimmons Pomegranate Salad with Butter Lettuce and Arugula

Salad

As much as I love the East coast and my Jersey roots there are a few things in California that I would find very, very, very hard to leave behind… the weather (obviously!), the year-round outdoor activities (especially the hiking!), and of course the Farmers markets (aka the availability of amazing, seasonal, top-notch ingredients).

But since having Katie and Jachs, I have found it much harder to peruse the farmers markets like I once did.  Rather, I often find myself b-lining it straight to my favorite vendors and buying the same old produce week after week… until now… because I finally decided to join  a local CSA (and I am absolutely giddy about it!).

Clean Eating Turkey ‘Sausage’ Spinach & Mango Skillet

Turkey Mango Skillet

Skillet meals are far and wide one of the simplest ways to pull off a quick, nutritious dinner using whatever ingredients you may have on hand.

The general rule of thumb is veggies, veggies, veggies (and sometimes, even fruit), some form of protein, and spices.  From there you can add a little ‘smart-carb’ to the meal (ie. quinoa, brown rice, spaghetti squash, etc.) and you’re ready to go!

The inspiration for this combo came from a new spice mix I discovered…

KidBite: Kale Pesto Dipped Chicken Tenders

Pesto Chicken Tenders

I’d be lying if  I tried to pretend that finding yet another way to have my two-year old enjoying kale didn’t excite me.

What can I say?  Watching my toddler eat and enjoy green veggies of any type makes me smile.

I’m not exactly sure why.

I think it has something to do with knowing that she is doing something good for herself… but not because she thinks it’s good for her, rather because she really likes it.

Yeah.  That’s definitely part of it.  I think that’s cool.

A ‘Keeper” Marinade for Grilled Flank Steak

Flank Steak

Nothing makes me happier than having a go-to recipe in my pocket that I know works.

A tried and true staple that I can make for company and just as easily make for a family dinner knowing that everyone will leave the table with a smile on their face.

This is one of those recipes.

And really it’s all about the marinade…

KidBite: Whole Grain Elbows With Lentils

Pasta and Lentils

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a KidBite.

It’s not because my kids don’t eat, rather that I’m not a very good multi-tasker and trying to figure out how to balance two children with everything I would like to be doing in my life without falling into the abyss of complete exhaustion is something I’m still working on.

Everyday I promise myself that I’m gonna share all of the great recipes, tips, ideas, etc. that I have about living a Clean & Delish life (family style) here on the blog, but after the mini’s are in bed and my day of ‘doing’ is over, I just can’t seem to resist the desire to allow my brain to melt into a puddle of ‘being’.

But with that being said, I just couldn’t wait to share this recipe with you guys…
