When it comes to our weekly supply of fruit, I really don’t do too much pre-preperation other then shopping. The thing with fruit is that if you wash and cut it ahead of time, it goes bad really quickly. Plus, most fruit is easy enough to rinse and cut up (or bite into) when it’s snack time.
This is a general idea of what I buy for my family of four over the course of a week. Take into account that it is winter time and I buy most all of my fruits (and veggies) local or/and organic.
Like I mention in the video, I try to buy in season as much as possible but sometimes make an exception to the rule. For instance, I usually buy 1-2 pints of berries in the winter simply because my kids beg for them and I figure it’s better than some other form of processed food. At the end of the day you gotta make it all work for you!
I would love to hear any ideas or tips you have around fruit preparation for the week down in the comments below.
