Video: How-To: “Kick-Up a Can of Soup”

Two things that hold true for me when it comes to food:

  • I do NOT skip meals (I don’t think I’ve ever skipped a meal in my life AND I’ll never understand people that “forget ” to eat).
  • I do NOT compromise on flavor (this means even if I don’t have time, am uninspired, or am in a rush – I ALWAYS manage to find a way to be sure that whatever I am eating tastes good! [I mean really... why eat a meal if it doesn't taste good?!]).

Now I don’t consider myself a food snob (although I admit that I can be rather particular) BUT it’s not often that I can find a “pre-made” (either canned or frozen) meal that has been able to satisfy me “as-is”. As a matter of fact, I don’t know that I have ever really enjoyed anything  pre-made without “doctoring it up a bit”!

AND since there will always be those days when you’re just gonna need a little help in the kitchen this video shares a simple way to give those “boring-bland-pre-made-meals” a little home-made kiss SO that no matter what’s for dinner YOU NEVER have to sacrifice flavor!

And feel free to carry this idea beyond soup.  You can give a little fresh life to just about any pre-made meal you’ve got;).  Just think veggies, herbs, spices, onions, garlic, tortillas, cheese… these are all “quick-go-to” ingredients that can help “punch-up” a dish in very little time!

So tell me… Do you guys have any tricks or tips for kickin’-up a “pre-made” meal? Any favorite go-to techniques you use in your kitchen??  If so, I’d love to hear about them!

I got so excited when I read this post, because I get so fed up with people who forget to eat! I end up feeling weird for making them eat lunch when we go out for a day. Because if it was up to them, they would just forget! Thanks for this post.
