Grilling is one of my favorite ways to enjoy asparagus. As a matter of fact as the weather gets warmer I like grilled just about anything!
This is a very simple way to cook asparagus and it’s quick too. Try serving it with a squish of fresh lemon or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar when it’s done cooking. Enjoy!
Simply Grilled Asparagus
Ingredients
1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed and peeled1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil or cooking spray
Salt and pepper to taste
Serves 2 generously:).
Directions
Preheat grill over medium high.Drizzle olive oil over asparagus and season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to roll the asparagus around a bit to be sure it is lightly coated in the oils and seasonings.
Pop them on the grill, turning the spears once or twice, just until the thickest part of the asparagus is fork tender. They will take between seven and fifteen minutes depending on their size.
Enjoy!

Hi Dani and B. We do this all the time and it is delicious. We keep the heat on low setting.
Fred and Angela – Hi!! thanks for the tip…I never tries it over low heat:).
I love all these recipes- even for simple things like this. Thanks!
Asparagus is great, but (here’s a silly question for you) how do you deal with the really tough ends? I love making asparagus, but I can’t eat 1/3 of it because of those ends!
Ashley!! You have to cut the ends off! Didn’t you watch my Asparagus 101 video?:)
This is my favorite way to do asparagus. Maybe add some balsamic vinegar and grated parmigiano reggiano.
Thanks for the healthy recipe. Please help on how to make it more appealing to kids though. I have a hard time convincing them to eat.
tboneski – You got it! When it comes to kids and healthy eating I believe it really comes down to consistent exposure. In other words just continue to give your children a fruit and veggie option with EVERY meal and encourage them to take one bite. If they don’t like it, no pressure… just try again at the next meal. The key is to keep on keep on and always have the fruits and veggies around. Also… remember, monkey see, monkey do… if you are eating and enjoying healthy foods your kids will be more likely to jump on board! Hope that helps… good luck!
