Chocolate and Peanut Butter Oatmeal

chocolate_oats_photo

Here’s another simple and d’lishes way to whip up some oatmeal for breakfast.  Remember, I almost always make my oatmeal ahead of time,  so all I  have to do is reheat it with some yummy “add-in’s” come breakfast.

It’s a complete no-brainer!

I guess this is more of a suggestion than a recipe, but hey, either way it’s an easy way to get the day started on the right foot;).

I actually made this for my husband this morning and right before I served it, I added some chopped bananas. They didn’t make the picture, but I highly suggest adding some in if you’ve got them on hand!!

Oh, and did I mention that oatmeal also makes a GREAT mid-day/late afternoon snack?! Especially when you play around with the “add-in’s”.

Maybe it’s a stretch of the imagination on my part, but I like to think of it as a cookie that you eat with a spoon…hey whatever works, right?!

It really doesn’t have that good of a presentation. You might want to incorporate some sort of garnish, etc. so it doesn’t look so….um….goopy. I’m sure it tastes better than it looks, but you’re normally exceptional at presentation.

This oatmeal sounds really good! Though, it somehow seems just a little bit wrong to add chocolate and peanut butter to healthy oatmeal… I will have to try it!

I finally got around to trying the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Oatmeal. I used nutella as my source of chocolate. It was pretty good!

For those doubters, chocolate whey is not the same as adding a chocolate bar or chocolate syrup, it is 100% healthy and is really fat’s kryptonite.

I had been mixing my oatmeal and whey for years with various fruits and berries but had never thought of adding natural PB. Easily my favorite snack now. Thank you!!!

Tip: after trying several add-ins I now add almonds, blueberries, strawberries and banana. Sounds like a lot but it’s one of the most nutritious combos out there and tastes incredible, especially with the PB!!!

Casey – You are very welcome:)! Your combo sounds d’lishes… it’s like an oatmeal fruit salad, YUM! I know I would love it, I ‘ve learned that when something sounds good, chances are it will taste good as well!

This is amazing. I’ve always hated oatmeal but I felt I really should eat it for all it’s great nutritional value, but I couldn’t even force it down my throat unless it was one of those horrible-for-you-sugar-filled pre-made little packs, and then it’s completely void of any and all nutritional value…. but this is awesome! First time I’ve ever enjoyed my oatmeal! I’ll definitely be making this a lot, and can’t wait to try more of your mix-ins! Thanks :)

SOUNDS great. We cook steele cut oats in a mini crockpot…set up the night BEFORE…and ready to eat when we get up :) Makes them creamy just like the non steel cut ones.

I don’t like to use whey powders…too many have so much \other\ non-clean stuff in them (added and hidden sugars and artificial ingrediants)…could I use baking choc powder…with, maybe a splash of…agave to sweeten up instead?
